Looked After Children

Meeting the needs of looked after children who have often experienced repeated trauma.

About the Service

Here at Midlands Psychology we understand that children who are living with foster carers or in residential care homes have often experienced repeated trauma and may have very special needs that are seldom met.

Once children have settled in with their new carers, these needs do not go away and can even become intensified once the demands of family life set in. We have a specialist team of practitioners who are experienced in helping these 'looked after' children and their carers, as well as other professionals who work with them.

Our Specialist Practitioners Provide:

  • Assessments
  • Consultation, training and advice to residential staff
  • Therapeutic interventions
  • Attachment therapy
  • Carer support
  • Training in attachment and mental health
