EduTherapy is a resource that has been specifically developed for children and young people who are not able to benefit from the formal school experience. These young people may be referred to us by Staffordshire County Council through their on-line portal. Together, we try to find the 'best fit' between the individual youngster and what can be offered to meet their needs. Placements vary in length between just a couple of weeks to one or two terms - or even longer.
Schools are welcome to contact us directly to explore what we can offer. We are happy to provide as little or as much as is needed, and can offer one or two sessions a week to complement existing provision or to 'bridge' a pupil back into education in a planned, measured way.
Parents and carers may contact us at any time to discuss how we can support their child flexibly - whether this is by offering one activity a week or by putting together a complete, bespoke programme.
Funding
EduTherapy placements are currently funded by the County Council only when they make the referral directly to us.
We are always open to exploring alternative routes for teachers and parents who may wish to follow a different funding route and will do everything we can to help.
As a not-for-profit Social Enterprise, Midlands Psychology reinvests all profits to continue to develop services and resources for families and to keep costs as low as possible so that everyone can benefit from community psychology and all it can offer.
EduTherapy is £55 per hour.
